Configuring the Mac OS X Setup Assistant
  1. Select United States in the Welcome list.
  2. Click the Continue button.
  3. Select U.S. in the Personalize Your Settings list.
  4. Click the Continue button.
  5. In the First Name field, type your first name.
  6. In the Last Name field, type your last name.
  7. In the Address field, type your address.
  8. In the Email Address field, type your email address.
  9. In the Area Code field, type your area code.
  10. In the Phone Number field, type your phone number.
  11. Click the Continue button.
  12. Click the arrow box on the Where will you primarily use this computer? pop-up list and choose Home.
  13. Click the arrow box on the What best describes what you do? pop-up list and choose your occupation.
  14. Click the Continue button.
  15. Click the Continue button.
  16. In the Name field, type your name.
  17. In the Short Name field, type a login name for OS X.
  18. In the Password field, type a password for your OS X login.
  19. In the Verify field, type the password again.
  20. Click the Continue button.
  21. Click the I'll use my existing Internet Service radio button in the Get Internet Ready area.
  22. Click the Continue button.
  23. Click the Telephone modem radio button in the How do you connect? area.
  24. Click the Continue button.
  25. In the User Name field, type your email address. Example username@internetconnections.com
  26. In the Password field, type your password.
  27. In the ISP Phone Number field, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  28. In the Enter any numbers you need to get an outside line field, type a dial prefix (if needed).
  29. Click the Yes or No radio button in the Do you have Call Waiting? area.
  30. Click the arrow box on the How is your modem connected to the computer? pop-up list and choose Internal Modem.
  31. Click the arrow box on the What kind of modem do you have? pop-up list and choose Apple Internal 56K Modem (v.90).
  32. Click the Continue button.
  33. In the Get iTools area, select an option whether you would like to register an iTools account or not.
  34. Click the Continue button.
  35. The mac will now attempt to register with Apple. This step will timeout in one to two minutes, if a connection can not be made.
  36. Click the Continue button.
  37. In the Email Address field, type your email address.
  38. In the Incoming Mail Server field, type mail.internetconnections.com
  39. Click the POP radio button in the Account Type area.
  40. In the User Account ID field, type your username.
  41. In the Password field, type your password.
  42. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type mail.internetconnections.com
  43. Click the Continue button.
  44. Click the arrow box on the Select Time Zone pop-up list and choose your time zone.
  45. Click the Continue button.
  46. In the Set Your Date and Time window, set the date and time.
  47. Click the Continue button.
  48. Click the Done button.
