Create a New Dial-Up Networking Connection

  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.
  3. Double-click the Make New Connection icon.
  4. Under Type a name for the computer you are dialing, type InternetConnections.Com
  5. Click the Next button.
  6. In the Area code and Telephone number text boxes, type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  7. Click the Next button.
  8. Click the Finish button.
  9. Click the InternetConnections.Com icon.
  10. From the menu bar, click File and select Properties.
  11. Click the Server Type button.
  12. For Type of Dial-Up Server, select PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5, Internet.
  13. Uncheck Log on to network.
  14. Check Enable software compression.
  15. Uncheck Require encrypted password.
  16. Uncheck NetBEUI.
  17. Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible.
  18. Check TCP/IP.
  19. Click the TCP/IP Settings button.
  20. Select the Server assigned IP address button.
  21. Select the Server assigned name server addresses button.
  22. Check both Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on remote network.
  23. Click the OK button.
  24. Click the OK button to close the window.
